Climate
Ireland has a mild temperate climate with mild winters and summers. In general courses are open throughout the year, particularly the links courses. In the summer there is enough daylight to fit two rounds of golf in on one day. Even in summer expect to experience some rain, however it is generally light and not too heavy on the golfer! The courses are in best condition from May to October but the standard is so high that even in winter you will be impressed.

Currency
Ireland is a member of the European Union, and has adopted the EURO as its currency. In Northern Ireland, the currency unit is Sterling. ATM's and banks are widely available throughout the country. All major credit cards are accepted and money transfer facilities are available.

Golf Essentials
We advise that you take waterproof garments, shoes and a change of clothes to each golf course. Warm clothes are also advised in summer, as you never know how the day will unfold. All courses will have a high standard of locker rooms.

Airports
There are four main international airports; Dublin, Cork, Shannon and Belfast. Numerous regional airports are available for internal transport and also for connections onto the UK and continental Europe.

Transportation
Ireland has a regional bus and rail service covering all the major towns and cities. Car hire and bus hire are available freely. Taxis are present in all major conurbations.

Food
International cuisine is now standard in Ireland, with all tastes catered for. Obviously we encourage visitors to try Irish traditional food at least once!

Safety
Ireland is a very safe country by international standards, crime is low and public order is maintained at all times. If you take basic measures to protect yourself and your belongings you will have no problems whatsoever.
