Carne Links Golf Club is located in Belmullet, Co. Mayo on the western coast of Ireland. The course is owned by a tourism organisation (Erris Tourism) that is locally owned and controlled. In the 1980s this company decided to commission Eddie Hackett to design a championship standard golf course to attract visitors to the region – we can safely say that Mr. Hacketts terms of reference have been met. In 1992 the course opened and ever since it has received rave reviews for the course and the overall experience you will find at Carne.





What most impresses golfers is the ease the course has been shaped into the landscape. Very little alterations had to be done to the topography – its as if the land was designed for golf. The local environment is very important to the people of the area and they take great pride in having this facility close at hand, all the time guarded by the Atlantic sea breezes!
