Dooks (Dingle)

Dooks Golf Club was founded in 1889 and was originally a 9-hole. In the 1970′s the club members turned it into an 18-hole and in 2002 Martin Hawtree was employed to redsign the course, the result is an improved Dooks that is consistently rated within the top 20 golf courses in Ireland.

The course is not long by modern standards, measuring 6,600 yards but as with all great links courses lenght is not the “great protector”…..the Atlantic Ocean provides this. The contours of Dooks are exceptional with rolling hills and hollows to trap your ball as you plan the best way to the green. It certainly is a thinking persons golf course and brute force just won’t work here – you need to plan your approach and follow the advice of the locals.

Dooks is located in Dingle Bay and is very close to Killarney and Kerry International Airport. It is well worth a visit, the staff and locals are very friendly and the course will not disappoint – please contact us to discuss Dooks in more detail or any element of your Irish Golf Vacation.
