Ballyliffen is Ireland's most northerly golf club, located off Tullagh Point on the Atlantic edge of the Inishowen Peninsula. The Ballyliffen Golf Club was formed in 1947. The Old Course started out as a nine hole and was developed into an 18 hole in 1973. The Old is a classic links with fairways that pitch and roll through the dunes, a flat stance is a rarity and good shots sometimes get punished, as it typical links golf. There are many memorable holes, the 5th called “the tank” is a 190 – yard par 3 that requires your approach to an elevated green. A trip to Donegal is not complete without a visit to the Old Course.
